Fence Repair, Staining & Restoration
Leaning posts reset, storm damage rebuilt, and weathered cedar washed, brightened and re-stained — often the difference between a five-year fence and a fifteen-year one.
Most fences do not fail all at once. A couple of posts rot at grade, a section starts to lean, a storm takes out a panel, and the whole run starts pulling itself apart. Caught early, that is a few hundred dollars of work. Left for two years, it is a full replacement.
We do repairs honestly. If the posts are sound and only pickets and rails have gone, we will tell you that and fix exactly that. If the posts are rotted through at ground level, we will tell you that patching is throwing money away — even though the repair would have been the easier sale.

Professional staining, sprayed and back-brushed
Stain is not paint. A penetrating oil stain has to soak into the grain to do anything, which means the wood must be clean, dry and open. We wash the fence, use a wood brightener to neutralise and lift greying, let it dry properly, then spray and back-brush so the stain is worked in rather than sitting on the surface.
New cedar needs 30 to 60 days after installation before it will take stain properly. Older fences that have gone silver usually come back beautifully once they are cleaned and brightened first.

Deck and structure refinishing
Decks take far more abuse than fences — foot traffic, furniture, standing water and full sun on a horizontal surface. Refinishing a deck means sanding or stripping the failed coating, replacing any boards that have cupped or split beyond use, resetting popped fasteners, and then sealing with a product rated for horizontal wear.
We refinish pergolas, patio covers and railings at the same time so the whole outdoor space matches instead of a new deck under grey framing.

Post resets, leaning sections and storm damage
North Texas storms take fences down every spring. We rebuild damaged sections, reset or replace failed posts, re-square leaning runs and match existing pickets and stain so the repair does not read as a patch.
For insurance claims we photograph the damage, itemise the scope and provide documentation your adjuster will accept. If the fence is a shared property line, we are happy to talk to the neighbour so the repair does not stall over who pays for what.

What homeowners ask us about this
How often should a cedar fence be stained?
Every three to four years for most fences in North Texas. South- and west-facing runs take the worst UV and may need it sooner. If water no longer beads on the wood and the colour has gone flat, it is time.
Can a grey, weathered fence be brought back?
Usually, yes — and the result surprises people. Greying is surface oxidation, not rot. A proper wash with a wood brightener lifts most of it and re-exposes the colour underneath, and the fence takes stain well afterwards. Only wood that has actually gone soft needs replacing.
Do you repair fences you did not build?
Yes, most of our repair work is on fences built by someone else. We will match the existing picket profile, rail layout and stain colour as closely as the products still available allow.
Will insurance cover my storm-damaged fence?
Often it will, subject to your deductible and policy. We photograph the damage, write an itemised scope and provide documentation for your adjuster. We do not handle the claim for you, but we give you everything you need to file it properly.
